Wethis your country home from home! Our farmhouse near Lake Maggiore is over 100 years old but we have added mod cons while respecting the environment and the original architecture. We have 2 guest bedrooms on the second floor (3 rd for Americans!, the Family Room with a double bed, a single and a double divan bed; and the Green Room with a 'one and a half sizè bed plus a single. Cascina Cesarina is just 20 minutes from Milan Malpensa airport, 5 mins from the Castelletto Ticino motorway exit at the southern tip of Lake Maggiore, and 10 minutes from the little tourist town of Arona. We are passionate about the fruit and vegetables we grow and use for the meals we offer guests. Our woods are also generous with mushrooms and chestnuts in season. Guests can opt for bed and breakfast or half board (with dinner), or a mixture of the two. Our breakfasts include a large choice of cereals, home-made bread and jams, high quality alpine milk butter, as well as typical Italian 'cornettò pastries or similar. Coffee and tea are high quality organic and/or fair trade products, milk and organic beef and pork are '0 food miles'straight from local farms. Dinner menus are agreed in advance according to guests'tastes or requirements, with plenty of our own vegetables and fruit and/or forest products. Our Cascina borders on the wildlife reserve La Torbiera, and is less than 10 minutes from the Zoo Safari in Pombia, which has shows and rides for children as well as viewing the animals. For golf-lovers, the courses at Castelconturbia and Bogogno are just a few minutes away, as are riding-schools, tennis courts, go-kart tracks in Borgo Ticino. Cascina Cesarina is an ideal base for touring Lago Maggiore, Lake Orta, the Parco del Ticino (good for cyclo-tourism too! And also for visiting Milan for pleasure or business while keeping your nights peaceful and healthy in the country!
Our welcome is warm, and in summer if you want to simply chill, you can hang around the pool and use our well-equipped barbecue area to cook yourself any fresh meat or vegetarian dishes you fancy. In a quiet area away from the crowds of lakeside pools. We are always happy to suggest places to visit, local events, restaurants or markets for present-hunting, and can also lend you books of many different types and in various languages. The clientele is international and at table the most frequently-spoken languages are Italian, English and Spanish. We welcome four-footed friends too. So long as they are clean and well-mannered.
